چکیده

Introduction Uveal melanoma (UM) is a rare yet deadly tumor. It known for its high metastatic potential, which makes it one of the most aggressive and lethal cancers. Recently, immune checkpoints such as Programmed cell Death protein-1 (PD1) Cytotoxic T-Lymphocyte-Associated significantly increasing patient survival in multiple human cancers, especially cutaneous melanoma. However, patients with UMs were excluded from these studies because their molecular characteristics, tend to be widely different those This study aimed analyze expression V domain Ig Suppressor T-cell Activation (VISTA), novel checkpoint, evaluate prognosis significance correlation PD1 CTLA-4. Methods Evaluation VISTA, CTLA-4, was performed through TCGA database analysis immunohistochemistry using two independent cohorts primary malignant UM. Results discussion Our results showed that VISTA associated tumor aggressiveness, T exhaustion, shortest median overall among patients. Surprisingly, protein negative all patients, whereas CTLA-4 advanced stages. findings suggest may prognostic marker an attractive treatment strategy immunotherapy Exploring profile predict response lead improvement precision therapy uveal

[Detection of circulating malignant cells in patients with uveal melanoma].

PURPOSE The purpose of our study was to detect circulating malignant cells (CMCs) in oversea-shipped blood samples of patients with uveal melanoma diagnosed in Brazil. METHODOS: Melan-A and tyrosinase were the two markers used for the detection of CMCs, using reverse transcriptase nested polymerase chain reaction (RT-nested-PCR) in 6 patients with uveal melanoma. The expression of beta-actin an...

Thymus-derived lymphocyte enumeration in patients with uveal malignant melanoma.

Thymus-derived lymphocytes (T lymphocytes) were enumerated in patients with uveal malignant melanoma. Two T-lymphocyte subpopulations were determined, the active rosette forming cells (A-RFC) and the total rosette forming cells (T-RFC). Subjects were divided into the following groups: (a) pretreatment patients, (b) patients treated by enucleation, (c) patients treated by photocoagulation, (d) p...

Thrombocytopenia in patients with melanoma receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy

BACKGROUND Immune checkpoint inhibitors, including antibodies against programmed death 1 (PD-1) and cytotoxic T-lymphocyte antigen 4 (CTLA-4), are being used with increasing frequency for the treatment of cancer. Immune-related adverse events (irAEs) including colitis, dermatitis, and pneumonitis are well described, but less frequent events are now emerging with larger numbers of patients treat...
